I am thrilled to welcome you to the 2024 SPAR Swiss Epic, taking place from August 20 to 24 in my hometown and in the trails, climbs and descents I’ve ridden many times in the breathtaking Graubünden region of Switzerland. As Race Director, it is my honour to extend a heartfelt greeting as you get ready for an incredible journey through the Swiss Alps. 

The SPAR Swiss Epic is more than a race – it’s a dream founded in 2014 by mountain biking legend Thomas Frischknecht. His vision was to create an event where professional and passionate amateur riders could Conquer the Alps together. From its inception, our race has been about providing the best possible experience with the aim of taking care of all of you and watching you at the finish line achieving an Epic goal. 

As you will see, you’ll ride through some of the world’s most stunning landscapes, experiencing the awe-inspiring beauty of the Swiss Alps, trust me I know what I’m talking about. You’ll feel the warmth of Swiss hospitality, with every accommodation location carefully chosen to ensure your comfort. Our team works tirelessly to provide the best service so you can focus entirely on the race. 

Since 2014, we’ve continuously sought new and exciting routes, enhancing every aspect of your experience. Our commitment is steadfast to ensuring that every rider experiences the uniqueness of racing in the Swiss Alps to the utmost, and we continue to focus on being the summit of global mountain biking

I hope you already felt that, organizing such a race requires meticulous planning and a passionate team working year-round and that this will be proven to you once again during the event. The ever-changing routes and unpredictable mountain weather are challenges that we embrace, ensuring every detail runs smoothly to deliver an unforgettable race.
