GPS TRACKING UNIT

Your tracking device is crucial, should you have an accident and require medical assistance, as it allows us to accurately determine your position and dispatch our medical services accordingly.

If you require emergency support:

  • Press the SOS button on the tracking device.
  • Call the emergency number to provide additional information about the incident and your condition
  1. COLLECTING YOUR TRACKING DEVICE
Your team’s GPS tracking device will be included in your race pack at registration. The device is supplied in a sealed waterproof pouch and must remain inside the pouch at all time.
  2. TURNING ON YOUR TRACKING DEVICE
Turn on the device at least 30 minutes before the start of each stage while outdoors. Press and hold the power button for a few seconds until the red light appears. The remaining indicator lights will then begin flashing.
  3. CARRYING YOUR TRACKING DEVICE
Carry the device in the rear pocket of your cycling jersey or in the top pocket of your hydration pack. The device must be carried throughout every stage.
  4. YOU DO NOT NEED TO TURN OFF THE TRACKING DEVICE AFTER EACH STAGE.
There is no need to switch off the device after finishing a stage. It will automatically power down later in the evening once your stage has been completed.

IMPORTANT: If you notice the power light flashing red or experience any issues with your tracking device, please report it to the Race Office immediately.

The Race Organisers continuously monitor battery levels and device status. Should any action be required, you will be contacted directly.

IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY

Emergency Protocol

In the event of an accident or medical emergency, please follow these steps:

  • Stay with your injured team partner and do not leave them unattended.
  • Press the SOS button on the team’s GPS tracking device to alert Race Control and request assistance.
  • If you have mobile phone reception, call the emergency number printed on your wristband.
  • If you encounter a marshal or race official, inform them immediately.
  • The emergency button will send your SOS signal to the Venue Operations Centre until assistance arrives and disables the SOS.
  • As there is only one tracking device per team, the uninjured rider should remain with their partner until assistance arrives.
  • If you come across another team involved in an incident, activate only the injured team’s SOS device and not your own.

The SOS alert will remain active until assistance arrives and the emergency has been cleared by Race Control.

AFTER THE RACE

After completing the final stage, please return your GPS tracking device to the volunteers at the finish line. If you withdraw from the race before the final stage, please return the device to the Race Office.

Lost, damaged, or unreturned devices will be charged at CHF 150 per device.
