ONCE YOU ARE AN OFFICIAL FINISHER…
The Grand Finale is a busy and exciting day! To help you through the process smoothly and ensure you don’t miss out on any opportunities, here is a preview of what you can expect once you’ve crossed that finish line:

  • Your SOS tracking unit will be collected on the finish line. If this item is not returned, riders will not receive their deposit back.
  • As you hand in your SOS tracking unit you will be handed an Absa card loaded with your SOS device deposit. *Please note: These cards can only be used in South Africa – if you are travelling abroad, you are welcome to use your card at the Ciovita Merchandise store, Chill Zone or alternatively you can draw the cash from the Absa ATM located near the Race Office*
  • Your bike will be taken from you, washed and placed in the bike park.
  • You will then walk through the chute (without your bike) and move towards the photo wall to receive your finisher medal.
  • After you have received your finisher medal there is a photo opportunity with Sportograf, which will be available for purchase on sportograf.com.
  • Once you have had your victory photo taken, you will be guided to the finisher tent where you will receive your finisher t-shirt and sticker.
  • If you are a new or existing Amabubesi member or new Epic Legend, look out for the dedicated Amabubesi and Epic Legend area in the finishers’ tent.
  • You can then make your way to the recovery zone to collect your Grand Finale picnic.

*Riders will also have the option to donate their deposit cards which will then be distributed equally between our official charities.

GETTING BACK TO CAPE TOWN

After celebrating your finish of the 2025 Absa Cape Epic and enjoying the festivities of the Grand Finale, please head to the Big Box container to collect your bike bags / boxes and extra luggage handed in at registration.

If you’ve purchased a post-accommodation package, remember to collect your luggage and bike bag / box from the Grand Finale bag collection.

Follow the signage to locate the bike transfer truck.  Give yourself enough time to pack your bag / box with your bike and load it onto the bike transfer truck before you board the coach. Your bagged / boxed bike will arrive at the hotel later that evening.

If you stored your bike box / bag and extra luggage at the pre-accommodation hotel we will transport your bike without a bike box / bag.

If you have not purchased our post-accommodation package, please arrange your own transfer.
