Race the World: The Untamed Battle of the Epic Series Unfolds in Groundbreaking Six-Part Docuseries
The Epic Series is more than just racing – it’s a battle against the elements, the competition, and more so – yourself. A global test of endurance, skill, and sheer willpower. Now, for the first time ever, Race the World takes you behind the scenes of the world’s most iconic mountain bike stage races.
Episode 1, which premiered on 4 March, dives into the race that started it all: the Absa Cape Epic – the world’s premiere mountain bike race, in which every serious amateur mountain biker desires to participate and every professional mountain biker aspires to win. This is the sport’s ultimate proving ground of man and machine – 8 gruelling days, over 650km, and 16,500m of climbing – Everest, twice – through South Africa’s most unforgiving terrain. The toughest riders on earth come here to push their limits, and for some, to break them.
Throughout 2025, the series will take you behind the scenes of every race, in the Epic Series calendar, revealing what it takes to conquer and put on the most demanding and legendary multi-day stage races in the world.
